In 2015, Kameel donated seed money to begin the Curiosity Foundation which aims to take positive action against climate change as well as to support the arts. All money from his books go directly to the foundation. Despite the problems and dramas of our world, Kameel feels optimistic about our future.
The CF is a small private foundation with an emphasis on combating climate change through small grants. The foundation is especially interested in funding research into Greenhouse Gas Removal, taking CO2 and methane out of the air, which we need to do to prevent even more catastrophe. Because Kameel is an avid bicyclist and gardener, he appreciates infrastructure and forestation solutions, as well as novel scientific approaches. Fortunately, there are not dozens, not hundreds, but thousands of startups and researchers working on practical solutions, and the CF is in the vanguard.
He discovered on his bicycling trips that people in other countries had a deep desire to know about America. Many had greatly distorted images of Americans. He found himself being a spokesperson for his country, which inspired him to begin the Ambassador of Peace program to promote dialogue and cooperation.
Because we're small, we do not have a formal process for people and organizations to apply for grants. Send us a proposal and tell us your project and goals. You need to be a nonprofit or part of a nonprofit, such as a university.
